About Me

Hey, I'm Sarah the Gypsy Girl (formerly Backwoods Babies), and I'm so glad you came to visit.  If you are into cute and sweet, this isn't the place for you.  If you are interested in DIY projects with a side of sarcasm I'm your girl.  My style is best described as Antiqued Ikea with a side of garbage.

So just a few things about me:

I've been kicking it with the same hottie for the last 17 years.  I like to call him Señor Hotness which he isn't super crazy about, but he's also an indulgent fellow so I persist.  Really he is my saint of a husband, my partner in crime, and he often follows me down the rabbit hole of DIY awesomeness.

I'm a mommy to 5 awesome ladies!  I currently have two teens, an incredibly sassy 9 year old, a 7 year old with a will that won't quit, and a 5 year old that is a world champion cuddler.

I am deficient at crock-pot cooking, and I rarely use one to cook.  Mostly because when I do something I want to be awesome at it.

I love desperate movers from craigslist, the new marketplace feature on Facebook, curbside specials (aka garbage), and I've rarely met a thrift store I didn't like.

I'm addicted to instastories, and have started randomly documenting my life there.

I've never been to Pier 1, or World Market, however, I am super addicted to antiquing.

We've had 12 moves, and lived in 5 states. We have only lived on the southern border of the United States until our most recent move to Ohio.  I absolutely LOVE Ohio, but every time I admit that, it makes me feel an immense amount of guilt towards my native Texas.  (Don't worry Texas you'll always have my love)

I am also an avid high fiver.  I could pretty much do it professionally if the blogger thing doesn't pan out.
